BEF Invites Industry To Comment On Breeding Programme

3000 invitations have been sent out to Breed Societies and Stud Books, individual breeders, trainers, elite riders and other interested parties to an Open Meeting, where the initial work of the BEF Breeding Development Programme Plan will be presented and discussed.

Graham Suggett, BEF Consultant Director of Breeding said; "Thanks to the Breeding Development Programme Plan's seven working groups' excellent preparatory progress we now have a good basis for useful discussion and the BEF would like to widen the debate and seek the views of breed societies, stud books and ndividual breeders. Our committee and working groups endeavour to represent the industry's views, but it is vital that all our colleagues in the breeding community can participate in this process. Our aim is to circulate information on the BEF Breeding Programme as widely as possible amongst the British Breeding Industry, and give
everyone the opportunity to participate in the plans if they wish."

The meeting will be Chaired by Richard Meade OBE on the morning of Friday 14 February 2003 in the Warwick Suite at the National Agricultural Centre. An overview by Graham Suggett and a situation report from each of the working group chairmen will be followed by an open forum to collect and discuss views.
