Equestrian Approves Sliding Scale For Horse Recording
Beginning
March 1, owners and breeders will be able to Life record horses
with U.S. Equestrian at reduced rates as low as $35! The change
to Article 812 offers the following discounts:

Horse recording applications are available from the Federation office.
The recording fee for the life of a horse is: $35 if applied for
from birth to December 31st of year foaled; $85 over one, but under
two years of age; $160 over two but under three years of age; $200
for horses over the age of three. Horses may be recorded annually
for a fee of $75. Exception: Horses must be recorded for life to
be eligible to receive FEI or National Passports."
"This
rule change offers breeders and owners a tremendous opportunity
to Life record young horses for purposes of Horse of the Year, Leading
Sire and Leading Breeder awards," stated Cheryll Frank, Director
of Sport Data for U.S. Equestrian. "At these rates, breeders
and owners can afford to Life record multiple horses, thereby entering
them in the Awards program for present or future owners, as well
as giving breeders the opportunity to track their products and earn
recognition."
For
purposes of Horse Recording, the universal birth date is January
1 for all horses [Article 123.1, no exceptions]
