Blazer at Expo 2003

"The potential for making money with horses has never been so great," says author/trainer Don Blazer who will explain how and why at the Idaho Horse Council Expo 2003.

"Choose to do the thing you love with horses, and then you can create a very profitable business," Blazer promises. "The horse world is expanding and demanding, but very willing to pay for the myriad of satisfactions only the horse can provide."

Blazer will also explain how "Horse Training Is Just Horse Talking" at Expo 2003 to be held at the Canyon County Fair Grounds, Caldwell, April 4, 5, and 6. The Expo will be open from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Blazer will speak twice each day-once on each subject--on Saturday and Sunday.

The author of the internationally syndicated column A Horse, Of Course, Blazer has authored how-to books on the business and the training of horses. He publishes a monthly newsletter, It's All About Money, which details tips and techniques for expanding business and saving money with horses.
Blazer has trained both show and race horses; he has sent horses to the Quarter Horse world championships and he has won stake races with both Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds.

"We actually never train a horse to do any of the exercises we require," Blazer said. "The horse can stop, spin, back and do flying lead changes within hours of his birth. All we actually do is teach a common language so the horse performs the exercise we request."
"Communication is the path to brilliant, willing performances," Blazer says. "Domination results only in submission."

Blazer will explain how the natural instincts of the horse are used in conjunction with the scientific principles of behavior modification to create the language of horse training.

Other events and demonstrations include round pen work, mounted shooters, draft and mule drivers competition and clinics on preparing for shows, tax tips for horsemen and a show ring fashion show.
