Lyman T. Whitehead Qualifies Moulin Rouge for Hunter Classic on Saturday Evening

Wellington, FL – February 13, 2003 – The World Championship Hunter Rider Spectacular today finished several divisions and those champions and reserves are qualified to compete in the big Hunter Classic on Saturday evening, February 15.

On the grass, in the Internationale Arena, the First Year Hunters were in 2 sections with 33 horses in the A Section and 36 horses in the B Section. Champion in the A Section was Madison’n Fifth owned by Wendy Israel and shown by Louise Serio. Reserve Champion in the A Section was Southern Lights ridden by Samantha Darling and owned by Dr. Sheila Buchbinder. In the B Section, Champion was Camberly with Emily Williams riding for the All Seasons Farm and Jimmy & Danielle Torano. Reserve Champion was Cast A Spell with Holly Orlando riding for La Bagatelle LLC.

In the Regular Conformation Hunters, Hollywood owned by Paula Polk Lilard and ridden by Tim Goguen was Champion. Reserve Champion was Chopard owned by Krista Weisman and shown by Scott Stewart.

In the Second Year Hunters, Champion was Moulin Rouge ridden by T. Whitehead and owned by Natalie Johnson. Reserve Champion was Marvin ridden by Sandy Ferrell for Mrs. Gary Peterson.

Tickets to the Winter Equestrian Festival are available by phone at 793-JUMP or at the gate. Admission is free on Wednesdays. Children 12 & under are free all days. Senior admission is $5 every day. Adult admission is $5 on Thursday and Friday, $10 on Saturday, and $15 on Sunday. Parking is free.
