Cancels BETA Gala Dinner

A
FIRE at the Metropole cancelled the BETA Gala Dinner and Awards
Evening on the first evening of the BETA International Trade Fair.
Just
as 350 party goers were set to dance the night away the fire on
the third floor spread to other rooms in the hotel causing the cancellation.
The
main damage was caused by smoke and water.
The
first running of the BETA dinner looked set to be a huge success
with key industry players looking forward to the occasion.

Chief Executive and Secretary Claire Williams said: "We are
all hugely disappointed. The dinner was a sell out and had the making
of a great evening.
"We
will hopefully run the dinner next year and will be able to cater
for more guests."
It
was planned to present the BETA sponsored Innovations Awards, the
UK Trade and Investment Exporter of the Year Award, TSM Rider Award
and BETA Lifetime Achievement Award during the evening.
These
