Eric Smiley, a Fellow of The British Horse Society (BHS), is to present the next BHS Convention at Blackdyke Farm Riding Centre, Blackford, Cumbria, on Monday 29 March. Eric, one of Ireland's leading Three Day Eventers for many years, will work on the theme of 'Indoor Cross Country'. Although primarily for professional instructors, the BHS Convention, sponsored by South Essex Insurance Brokers, welcomes anyone who wishes to attend.

The BHS series of Conventions and Seminars is always popular, engaging many leading names from the equestrian world of training. Eric Smiley is based in Northern Ireland and is a British Eventing Accredited Trainer as well as holding the BHS' highest accolade of horsemanship as a Fellow. He is Director of the Golden Saddle Scheme, a unique talent spotting scheme held only in Ireland, and has competed on the Irish Three Day Event Team since 1982 including European, World and Olympic competitions.

The BHS Convention counts as a refresher for the Register of Instructors and ten hours for holders of the Preliminary Teaching Certificate.
