Neighbours Earn Places In SEIB/BHS Championship

Two near-neighbours from Cornwall have become the first to qualify for the South Essex Insurance Brokers/BHS Cross Country Championships.

They earned their places at the Pendavey Hunter Trial, first of more than 50 qualifiers nationwide, leading to the final near Swindon in September.

Mother of three, Susan-Joy Keeping, 41, who runs her own two livery yards at Roche, took three horses to Pendavey - Sunrise Gemeni, Lanner and An Officer and a Gentleman. Sunrise Gemeni took places in the Open and Novice classes, while the third, paired with Mrs Sue Coffin's Jack, qualified in the pairs.

Mrs Coffin, who runs the Crosswinds Equestrian Centre at Whitemoor, qualified in both the pairs and with her own Spot On, in the Open.
