Joanna Barry Joins Team TopSpec

RISING dressage star Joanna Barry is the latest rider to receive support from leading equine nutrition company TopSpec.

Joanna (25) is based at Kirk Newton, near Edinburgh and her top rides for the season are G-West Nibby Bright and Don Noir.

Former headgirl with Carl Hester, Joanna is now trained by her former employee who travels up to her base once a month.

Said Joanna: "I am very fortunate to have support from TopSpec. I started using the products last year and TopSpec were good enough to help out in the run up to the British Dressage Summer Championships."

Both G-West Nibby Bright and Don Noir have been on winning form securing the novice, elementary and medium championships at the Scottish Winter Dressage Championships at Gleneagles.

Don Noir and Jo then went on to capture the Novice Open and Novice Freestyle at the Winter Championships at Solihull Riding Centre.

Owned by Lyndsey Scott from Kinross, G-West Nibby Bright is currently competing at Medium level and working towards Prix St George.

The six-year-old Don Noir, is German bred and owned by Shona Jones from Aberdeen. Both horses have qualified for three classes at the Winter Championships at Solihull by winning at the Scottish semi-finals.

Nicola Tyler of leading equine nutrition company TopSpec said: "We are finding that more and more dressage riders are turning to us for nutritional advice, and we are pleased to be assisting Joanna, she is a very hardworking and talented rider.

"Dressage horses need feeds which maximise muscle function and stamina while allowing them to perform obediently and calmly but with presence.

The sponsorship will allow Jo's horses to continue receiving TopSpec Feed Balancer, TopSpec Calmer and TopSpec Dr Green in order to keep them focused and performing well during competitions."
