All the fun of the farm

The Easter holidays are a great time of year to take children on a fun and informative visit to an open farm.

Spring brings a burst of activity and colour to Britain with trees coming into blossom, newborn lambs gambolling in the fields and the first green shoots appearing.

Some of the sights children visiting open farms this Easter will be able to see include newborn lambs and chicks as well as learning how their food is produced, go on nature trails and even take part in Easter Egg hunts.

Farms For Schools (FFS) is an organisation which aims to ensure that school trips to farms are safe, pleasurable and educationally worthwhile.

FFS Chairman Ed Dee said: “This is a brilliant time of year for children to visit the countryside as they can see the wonder of new life and take part in fun activities whilst learning more about how our food is produced and where it comes from.”
