Star-Studded Cast Support Horse of the Year Show

Grandstand Media Ltd has today announced the eagerly awaited 2001 Honorary President’s Committee. Supporting Susan George (Hon. President) on this year’s committee are actors, celebrities and personalities from all walks of the entertainment industry.

Making up the committee are Sir David Frost, the tough interviewer and TV presenter, well–loved singer Dame Shirley Bassey, stage, screen and TV actor Christopher Plummer, singer Olivia Newton-John, and Formula One supremo Bernie Eccleston. Joining them are “Millionaire” quizmaster and breakfast show DJ Chris Tarrant, the stars’ favourite fashion designer Bruce Oldfield, former racing trainer Jenny Pitman, Monty Roberts, the original “horse-whisperer”, and the popular TV presenter of “Grandstand” and “A Question of Sport”, Sue Barker.

A very special program of equestrian entertainment and top class competition is planned for this year’s Horse of the Year Show (2nd - 7th October) with many of the hottest celebrities expected to descend upon Wembley Arena to enjoy the Show, including the members of the Honorary President’s committee.

The star-studded Gala Night performance includes fast moving competition with the biggest Show Jumping Class of the week, and top class equestrian entertainment which has proved a universally popular evening out, not only with the stars and personalities, but also with the thousands of spectators that join them, filling Wembley Arena to enjoy the finale to this most prestigious event.
