Jumping - First Honours To O'Connor At St Gallen |
IRELAND'S
23 yr old Kildare rider Cian O'Connor saw off the Swiss aces Markus
Fuchs and Willi Melliger at the opening international class at St.
Gallen Switzerland, today (Thursday) riding the 9 yr old bay mare
<ABC Landliebe>.
O'Connor
finished the class a remarkable 3 seconds faster than Fuchs, riding
<Royal Charmer>.
With
team-mates Kevin Babington, Robert Splaine and Billy Twomey, O'Connor
will compete on Sunday, June 1, for the third of the elite competitions
in the Samsung Super League at St. Gallen. Ireland currently lies
joint second in the Super League with Germany, each on a score of
10.5 points.
