KEEPING
UP their formidable scoring at the CSIO St. Gallen in Switzerland,
the Irish today took First and Second as well as Sixth in the Grand
Prix today (Friday).
Veteran
Robert Splaine steered the Irish-bred <Coolcorron Cool Diamond>
into the winner's spot with a double clear and a fraction of a second
ahead of team-mate Billy Twomey, riding <Luidam>, while New
York-based Kevin Babington took sixth on <Carling King>.
Thursday's
Irish star, Cian O'Connor, opted to save his horse for the Nations
Cup Super League competition on Sunday, and did not compete in the
Grand Prix today.
