As Cold as Ice

Research now shows that the application of ice-cold therapy in the first 24 hours has a marked effect on the severity of an injury. It has now been shown that the temperature of the therapy must be as close to zero as possible, and the area should not be treated for more 10 minutes or until the skin goes numb. This constricts the flow of blood to the area and reduces swelling and oedema to the area.

Cold therapy has been used for many years for the prevention of injury after heavy exercise. New research now shows that cold is not good enough. For maximum affect, it must be ice cold.

The Armadillo Hot/Cold Therapy System allows you to apply hot or cold therapy anywhere on the rider or limbs of the horse - all with one product.

The gel packs can be either heated or cooled to temperature. When placed in the freezer, they do not do hard, but will drop in temperature to the crucial zero degrees.

The innovative shape of the Wraps allows you to apply Hot or Cold Therapy to horse and to the rider. Difficult areas such as hocks, knees and ankles can be treated with ease. Both legs can be treated at the same time as the each pack has 2 wraps and 2 gel packs. 100% machine washable.
