Lexington, KY, June 25, 2003 –The Horse: Your Guide to Equine Health Care, a monthly publication celebrating 20 years as the leader in equine health care news and information, and its companion Web site TheHorse.com, the Web’s premiere site for online equine health care, news and in-depth, veterinarian-approved articles on equine health care, were recognized June 21, 2003, at the American Horse Publications’ Annual Awards Program in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

American Horse Publications is a non-profit professional association of more than 290 publications, individuals and businesses dedicated to promoting better understanding and communication within the equine publishing industry. Since its inception in 1970, the American Horse Publications Annual Awards Program has recognized excellence in editorial content and graphic design.

Second place in the Color Editorial Design category went to Beth McCoy for her “Rodeo Horses,”; third place prizes went to “West Nile Virus Alert!,” by Kim Herbert and Stephanie Church for Horse Care, and David Stoecklein’s “Rodeo Horses” in the Open Color Editorial Photograph division.
