Another Nations Cup Superleague Win for Ireland at Aachen CSIO 5*

The Irish Nations Cup team have won their third Nations Cup class in as many weeks with last weekends win at the Aachen (Ger) CSIO 5* Samsung Nations Cup Superleague.

Two Irish Sport Horses were on the team representing Ireland at Aachen, Coolcorron Cool Diamond (ISH) ridden by Robert Splaine (IRL) and Carling King (ISH) ridden by Kevin Babington (IRL). This win places Ireland in second position, just 0.5 points behind leaders France, in the Samsung Superleague Table after round four.

Earlier in the week at Aachen, Gerry Maguire (ISH) was ridden by Robert Smith (GBR) to win Tuesdays 1m45 Accom Prize class. Wednesday found That's Life (ISH) and Michel Hecart (FRA) take third in the 1m45 Preis des Kreises Aachen class. They went on to take third in Thursdays Preis des Handwerks 1m40 class also.

Also competing at Aachen was World Champion Dermot Lennon (IRL) who rode Ginger Watt (ISH) to take third place in the Rolex Best of Champions class on Saturday while Swanky (ISH) ridden by Tadayoshi Hayashi (JAP) came fifth in Sundays "Last Chance" 1m45 class.

Young Irish Riders competing at the Freudenberg (Ger) CSIOP also did us proud by winning the Pony Nations Cup there. The Irish team consisted of Anthony Condon riding Mister Polo Bear, Nicola Fitzgibbons riding Miami Bound, Mark Flynn riding Kilcannon Explosion and Mark McAuley riding Shalom Outlaw.
