The Place To See And Be Seen

Ladies Day on Tuesday 8 July at the July Racecourse at Newmarket

Ladies Day, which kicks-off the three day July Meeting at Newmarket Racecourses, has become one of the highlights of East Anglia’s social calendar, mixing top class flat racing with the best and most elaborate fashions. Female racegoers are encouraged to show off their millinery, and elegant attire is essential if you want to be in with a chance of taking home the title of ‘Best Dressed Lady’.

This year’s competition is going to be tough. Anyone turning up in anything less than glamorous is unheard of, making the competition off the track almost as intense as that on it. 10 beautifully dressed ladies will be picked out amongst the crowds for their glamour, individuality and style by this year’s celebrity judge Emma Noble and asked to attend the judging ceremony that will take place in between the afternoon’s racing.

The 10 best dressed ladies will be competing for three champion prizes, a £500 designer out fit by Paul Costelloe, a bespoke millinery creation by Abigail Crampton and one nights stay, including dinner and breakfast, in the luxurious suite at Swynford Paddocks Hotel in Newmarket. The remaining seven ladies will receive hats courtesy of Snoxells in the parade ring.

‘The July Meeting has always been one of the most popular fixtures of the year and we hope this year’s Ladies’ Day will bring out the best in fashion, as well as being a great day’s racing’ said Gaynor Haxby, Marketing Manager.

It’s the place to be this July, whether you want to take home the title of ‘Best Dressed Lady’, soak up the irresistible garden party atmosphere, rub shoulders with celebrities – or just have a good day out. Boasting an amazing visitor’s list, racegoers often find themselves mingling amongst Royalty, Hollywood actors and actresses, TV presenters, footballers and Pop Stars. Don’t miss it!
