High Prairie Farms Equestrian Center Transferred to the Colorado Horse Park

Parker, CO— High Prairie Farms Equestrian Center has been transferred to the ownership of The Colorado Horse Park, Inc., a 501 (c) 3 charitable foundation. After years of hard work by a multitude of people, the Colorado Horse Park belongs to the community.

“This is a very exciting development for everyone who has been involved with the Colorado Horse Park,” said Hank Held, Chairman of the Board for the Colorado Horse Park and Senior Vice President and In House Counsel at LGC Management.

“However, this transfer is just the beginning,” Held continued. The transfer paves the way for further development of the history and heritage of the horse in the West, including museums, expanded show facilities and more in the Park.

All land, buildings and activities of High Prairie Farms Equestrian Center are now under the direction of the Board of Directors. The Board is committed to the continued success of the Park, including expansion of the horse show calendar and development of the Park as a place to enjoy the tradition and romance of the horse.

The Park has served as an international equestrian competition center for more than a decade and has become a major economic driver in Douglas County. The North American Young Rider’s Championships, the US Equestrian Combined Driving Singles Championship, and AGA Grand Prix are just a few of events held at the Park over the past few years. Now that the facility is no longer privately owned, fundraising for development of additional public facilities will begin in earnest.

In addition to Mr. Held, the Board is comprised of Carol Beam, an active leader in the community and the former President of Beam Research Services; Tom Miller, CEO of Castle Rock Bank; Bruff Shea, Senior Vice President of Operations for New Land Colorado; Senator John Evans; and Helen Krieble, President of the Vernon K Krieble Foundation of Public Policy and President of Management II Ltd. Krieble also serves as CEO of the Colorado Horse Park.

The Colorado Horse Park is comprised of 150 acres, including show grounds, entertainment and hospitality center, boarding and training facility as well as commercial acreage for future development, including the museums and public attractions. The Park is currently using an additional 275 acres for cross country and carriage events.
