Gatcombe and RDS success for Irish Sport Horses

The Gatcombe British Open Championship (August 1st-3rd) found half of the top ten final placings taken by Irish Sport Horses. Moon Man (ISH) and William Fox-Pitt (GBR) took second place with Shear L’Eau (ISH) ridden by Leslie Law (GBR) finishing fourth. The Wexford Lady (ISH) ridden by Sarah Cutteridge (GBR) came in sixth, while Shear H2O (ISH), also ridden by Leslie Law (GBR), finished eighth followed by Captain Christy (ISH) ridden by Kristina Cook (GBR) in ninth.

In Showjumping, Dublin Horse Show week has started well for Irish Sport Horses. The International Speed Stakes class on Wednesday, August 6th, finished with first, second and third going to Windgates Mystique (ISH) ridden by Conor Swail (IRL), Gerry Maguire (ISH) ridden by Robert Smith (GBR) and That’s Life (ISH) ridden by Michel Hecart (FRA) respectively. In the Irish Sports Council Classic class on Wednesday, Splendido (ISH) and Harry Marshall (IRL) took fourth place and Chippison (ISH) ridden by Marie Burke (IRL) finished seventh. Last weekend, the €10,000 Dun Laoghaire Grand Prix was won by Laraghlease Western Desert (ISH) ridden by Steven Smith (IRL).
