Proposed Olympic Show Jumping Selection Procedures Available on Web

Gladstone, NJ and Lexington, KY—August 21, 2003— The Show Jumping High Performance Committee invites comments on proposed Selection Procedures for choosing the United States’ 2004 Olympic Show Jumping Team.

The Selection Procedures are posted on the websites of the United States Equestrian Team (USET) at www.uset.org and of USA Equestrian at http://www.equestrian.org/aboutus/inter/info.asp.

The deadline for comments is Monday, September 1. All comments should be sent in writing by email to sike@uset.org.

The Show Jumping High Performance Committee will review all comments and give consideration to any substantive recommendations made during the designated time period. Following that review, the High Performance Committee will submit its recommended Selection Procedure to the Executive Committees of both the USET and USA Equestrian prior to formal submission to the U.S. Olympic Committee on September 15.

The United States Equestrian Team is a non-profit organization that selects, trains, equips and finances equestrians of the highest possible standard to represent our country in major international competition, including the Olympic Games and the World Championships. To accomplish this, the USET seeks out and nurtures the development of talented athletes - riders, drivers and horses - and provides the support and guidance they need to help them attain their fullest potential.
