Dressage evening
For the first time in its 32-year history, Olympia International Show
Jumping Championships has added an extra night to the show, on Wednesday
17th December. The organisers have created an evening dedicated to
Dressage to celebrate the sport’s medal-winning year and the
enormous popularity that dressage now enjoys.
Top of the bill will be the KUR (dressage to music) competition. Olympia
has invited six top international riders, including our European Bronze
medal winning team, to take part in this highly skilled and breathtakingly
spectacular event.
Raising
money to send the British team to the Olympics, the Olympia Gala
Dressage Evening will be theatrical, fun, entertaining and with
a touch of celebrity as Noel Edmonds will be compering the evening
in his own inimitable style.
To
capture the imagination of every member of the family, the organisers
have also thrown in some light-hearted entertainment: a Dressage
and Eventers Ride and Drive competition, a Masterclass with Richard
Davison instructing John Whitaker and Zara Phillips on the finer
points of dressage, a Parade of Champions and Olympia favourites
such as the Shetland Pony Grand National and the Christmas Finale.
