Cox Wins Saddle Seat Medal Final

Betty Cox, 17, of Danville, KY, riding Amandari (ASB: Supreme Heir – Glory Glory FVF, by Titleist), was crowned champion of the 2003 USAE Saddle Seat Medal Finals, held November 22, as part of the UPHA/American Royal National Championship Horse Show in Kansas City, MO.

Cox topped the class of 32 entries in the two phase competition to put the final jewel in her triple crown. She was victorious earlier in the week in the UPHA Senior Championship, also held at the UPHA/American Royal National Championship, and won the Good Hands National Saddle Seat Championship held at the Pennsylvania National in Harrisburg, PA.

The reserve championship was awarded to Jessica Harrison, 18 of Andover, KS, riding Longview’s Two To Tango (ASB: Sovereign Memories – Secret Waltz, by CH Star Waltz). Both riders train at DeLovely Farm. As champion Cox will have her name engraved on the Adrian Van Sinderen Trophy and Helen K. Crabtree Perpetual Bronze. Champion and reserve each received Triple Crown Custom horse coolers and leather halters.

· 4th: Jordan Underwood of St. Charles MO, riding CH Louisville Lass (ASB: Sultan’s Great Day – The Belle of Louisville, by CH Night Prowler)

· 5th: Kyle Gagnon of Livermore Falls, ME, riding Duplicate Copy (ASB: Town Talent - Brief Case, by Attache)
· 6th: Blair Barrett of Houston, TX, riding Monster Man (ASB: CH Buck Rogers – Half Penny Manor Calamity Jane, by Fire Lane)

· 7th: Lisa McClaren of Hinsdale, IL, riding Kalu’s Can’t Stop The Magic (ASB: The Magic Commander – Kischa Kalu, by CH Kourageous Kalu)

· 8th: Alexandra Flynn of Tampa, FL, riding Callaway’s Will Gillen (ASB: CH Will Shriver – Callaway’s Mollie Gillen, by Kate’s Scoop)

· 9th: Emily Garten of Lebanon, OH, riding Highpoint’s Syncopated Rhythm (ASB: Kedzie’s King – Fashion Quality, by Ressle T.)

· 10th: Jessica Moctezuma of Hardwick, NJ, riding Callaway’s Royal Request (ASB: Merchant Prince – Callaway’s Special Request, by CH Will Shriver)
